the smoke you saw may have come from the sheds on New Chester road, the fire brigade where back there late this afternoon due to the fire or a new one in the sheds had flared up

Missed it coming back through liverpool thank god as was in preston until 6:45pm

i saw a plume of smoke this afternoon when i was going through viki park. it didnt look like it was from the new chester rd fire.

It was being demolished today, Fire Brigade may have been for that and the cloud of smoke may have actually been a cloud of dust.

Could see it while driving along Arrowe Park Rd just past Landican.

No it was definitely smoke, not dust. Looked more like a tire fire than anything else.

it did catch fire again the girl in screw fix was telling every one in there but they got it under control very quickly

There was a kind've large fire at the side of the M53 around this time (J2 - J3). It was caused by sparks from the train on dry grass.

Blaze engulfs Wirral warehouse twice in one week

A HUGE blaze swept through a warehouse in Merseyside today ­­– the second fire there in just a week.

Fire fighters were called to the derelict building next to Cammell Lairds as smoke poured into the air.

Earlier this week, crews fought to contain a massive explosion in a warehouse on Campbeltown Road, on Wirral docklands.

The first inferno, which was tackled by 70 firefighters at its height, was believed to have started in a John S Braid owned warehouse on Monday evening.

John S Braid is an international logistics and freight company.

As firefighters battled to contain the flames, which leapt 30ft into the air, there were concerns about it reaching the ship yard, a nearby petrol station and a Calor gas store.

Merseyside Fire Service today said they were called to the same location on Campbeltown Road today at 2.50pm following reports of another fire.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said they would return to the site later tonight to ensure the area was safe.

She said: “We went back out there today and had four appliances in attendance at the derelict building.

“It was caused by oil from an electrical transformer that had caught fire.”
