I know mechanics did around £35 per hour on labour in 2004 (the last time I used a garage for non-service maintenance). £1000 is a lot for a day's work, and if they can't do it in a day ... ?
Why are there so many garages trying to shaft people out of their cash?

I kept a quote from someone I worked with from a garage in Hoylake to fix an ARB link and a suspension top-mount, and refit the indicator lens (it had fallen out of the wing before the MOT). 600 quid, I kept the quote for LOL's!
