Glaring ommision from the list of companies above... how about The Gandy Belt (Seacombe). Didn't they make brake and clutch linings ? High asbestos content in those days.
not taking any thing away from the seriousness of having worked with,in or arround asbestos. That advert is typical of these Abulance chasing company's. I myself have been sent to various hospitals for checks over the last 10 years and untill it is showing up full blown its end of story.

1994 I think there was a big scare in Rock Ferry and Tranmere when the British Leather Co went on fire and there were warnings about asbestos dust being blown about in those areas
Nuclear General Stores 1961 to 1963 (lot of asbestos handled) Staging Department. 1963 to 1968 ( we used to get asbestos in gobfulls)
