For a PC I'd just get a length of ethernet cable and wire it up directly. Wireless is only worthwhile for a lappytop (it's great being able to post from the bathroom lol) If your PC doesnt have an ethernet port you can get USB to ethernet adaptors or ethernet cards quite cheap (I think I've got a spare USB to ethernet adaptor knocking around)
If it's stupid and it works, it ain't stupid.

Is this for a Wifi connection or Mobile Broadband. I assume its for wifi as you have mentioned your wireless router, is it a laptop? does it have a a laptop card slot? if yes, then go for a Wifi Laptop card rather than a dongle, something along the lines of this: Ebay Link

EDUP is a gud one: Desktop pcs: Ebay Laptop: Ebay Usb Dongle: Ebay Not sure how gud the Usb Dongles are though as I've only seen the desktop and the laptop cards in action and they are pretty gud but as its from EDUP am guessing it might be as gud as the others??

Those ones that pomp just linked too are only 54MBS, you want to go for atleast 108MBS as this is what your Sky router can run at, no point causing a bottle neck.

With it being a normal desktop PC, i would go for the Wireless Network Card rather than the dongle
They are roughly the same price but you will experience more connection issues with the dongle.
Like above, dont buy the 54mb/s ones. Look for a 108mb/s
The Network Card option will require you to open the case and fit it directly into the motherboard in an available slot

Good advice Tony - dongles can cause loss of hair etc...
