Oh and they have announced that there will are planned developments within the black hole tent; unfortunatly, after the company that purchased it could not obtain and import license for over 2 years, they scrapped a lot of the track at the end of September, so there is no chance of the Black Hole returning (unless they still have the Beast as that is essentially the same coaster, just an outdoor version)... but they have kept some track, and it is said to be compatible with the Eurofighter coasters (ie. SAW that is set to launch at Thorpe Park next year), which incidentally, was the planned replacement for the Black Hole back in 2006. There is a new Eurofighter coaster that has had prototypes built at two other parks for next year, and it is a launched version, so fingers crossed Alton will have one of these in there.
But for now, I rekon they may just put an icerink in there for shows or summit.

Yeah ive seen that on Youtube, they have a whole fairground up there iirc?
Unfortunatly, Alton are limited with the stict treeline height restrictions (the reason they had to remove the Thunder Looper, and their costers are painted green/black on the higest parts) as well as tree felling and noise restrictions, so they won't be building anything like that lol.

Been on a rollercoaster once and absolutely shit my pants.
I love the thrill of going fast and all that, but the heights and being taken about at speed didn't feel natural - was expecting it to break! I have loads of dreams where I'm suspended at a great height and it's affected me since!

I have loads of dreams where I'm suspended at a great height and it's affected me since! Sounds like your dreaming of the Dive Machine aka Oblivion... ![[Linked Image]](http://www.amusement-point.de/company/b-m/oblivion.jpg) Amazing ride; nothing else gets the adrenaline rushing like the few seconds yo are hanging over the edge, waiting to drop. You still to this day, see people scared to death by it.

Oblivion was absolutely nothing. All my friends were like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" But when it came to the crunch, it was as crunchy as a digestive biscuit left in a Vat of tea.
I blame the Rallying.

Nah Oblivion is still ace, its a pure adrenalive rush when you are hanging at the top. Its over too quick, admittadly, its one trick wonder, but what a hell of trick it is.
I still prefer Nemesis over anything else I have ever been on as it has just about everything bar a vertical drop, but the only thing that legend does not have, is it can't quite beat the adrenaline rush that one gets on Oblivion.
I just hate queueing to get off the flaming thing, I mean your on it so fast, and have to wait 10 mins to get off lol.
I went at this year's Scarefest, and it is much better at night, very much remeniscent of the Black Hole for a few seconds, from when you drop the 200ft into the ground, till the moment you hit the brake run. Although at night, you get soaked, thanks to different atmosphere conditions. Which is all part of the fun hehe.

One thing I really would hate though, is a stalled rollback on the Kingda Ka... ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cphelps.id.au/images/KingdaKa.jpg) Thats more than twice the height of the PMBO at 460ft btw, and 0-130mph in 3 seconds aint "too" slow I guess!

Hope theyve got brakes on that Station Surely with people on board, youd get the momentum to push it over that edge??

It depends on the weight, the warmth of wheels etc... Somedays, 1 in 3 attempts will cause a rollback, and when its really cold, they can't even get it over with the wheel heaters on lol.

I once went ona fair ride in Birkenhead Park and to my horror found I was not secured in. The ride had already started at this point. It was one of those ones where you are on a ring in a suspended carriage which swings out the faster you go. By the time we were sideways we were screaming and hold the bar down with all our might. I totally missed any exhilaration on the ride as I was too worried I'd come flying right off.
I think there was a case many years ago of a ride going bad in the park - Mexican hat or something. I think one girl may have died another was injured - I went to school with her - Ruth Cairns.

All the rocket coasters are designed for it mate, Stealth at Thorpe Park is a mini version of the Kingda Ka (think its about half the size or summit), and that does it too.
Every coaster can lose momentum enough to stall them. Almost all theme parks have cranes, that are needed when this happens, to return them to the station. It's just, with the rocket coasters having only one point of failiure, and a simple desin, they can cater for it.

Knightmare warming up lol. And failing. Someone forgot to turn on the wheel heaters iirc. And they could'nt use the crane to get it going again, as it was too windy lol.
