Rumour has it, that Nissan will be developing a new 3 cylinder, turboed 1.0L Engine, pushing out 140bhp !!! The web page isnt very good with the English content, and its unknown whether the picture shows the actual 2010 Micra, but its still an exciting prospect. Clicky...

No no no...you are mistaken sir Tastic. This is a brand new engine being developed.... a 1.0L Turbo engine pushing 140 bhp.... with th size and weight of the car, thatll mean you have one damn fast car, regardless of engine size

i agree craig, when i owned my b18 civic, it was pushin out 200bhp weighedabout 950kg and was like a bullet, but mr adam (a former banned lol member) decided to have a pop at me in his 1.3 turbo charged starlet i was very lucky to beat it, as his weighed even less but was turbo charged.
the pop was done on private roads ! honest.

Yeah but Craig, the report quotes a 0-60 of around 8 seconds. Now I know thats faster than a lot of car's, but its not exactly insane acceleration.
Anyone ever driven a VW TSi?

nope, what they like matt I aint drove one  Just wondering if anyone had, I remember reading about them in Auto Express about 3 or 4 years ago, little 170bhp 1.4 engine, supercharged to 2000rpm, and then the turbocharger takes over. I thought it was mint when I red it, but have not really seen much about it since. Really, given the fact it uses the supercharger to remove the turbo lag, it should be called an STI lol.

The 1.0 turbos tend to run out of steam very quickly though! Fun to drive! They did a March/Micra SuperTurbo, which combined a turbo and supercharger. It was Japanese only. Stop wasting everyones time sayin what a great car it would be...when in fact its gonna be a fookin turd. whatever engine gets thrown into it (and 140bhp if fookin nothing!), the chassis isnt gonna be upto it..nor are the rest of the components.
