My phone is sending but doesn't appear to be receiving texts. Is this possible and if so is it knackered?

This might sound simplistic but .... have you tried switching off and on and have you got an excessive amount of txts stored?
Both of the above cure my phones reluctance (motorolla).

It sounds like your message centre number has changed.You need to go into your message settings and find your message centre number and correct it to the right number.It might even be listed as service centre number.Here are the message centre numbers for all networks.

Grovelling humble apologies for not getting back to anyone. It's been a bit manic here and I simply forgot I had put a query up.
Seems to be working okay now although someone said they sent me a text that I didn't receive.
I tried that Dava but can't find any sign of message centre number in message settings. I'm O2 btw.
