Maybe call them back up joe?
Do the water channels match up?
Do the Oil Channels Match up?

I would like to say should be okay
but it does make you think?

Call the people you bought it off first as it could
be a simple mistake. Then if they say its okay and its not
you can get them by the short and curlies.

The coolant and oil channels seem to match up okay, including the coolant one at the end, but I'll have to double check with the old gasket against it.

It's just the shape of the cylinders thats confused me.

Doesn't look like its going to get fitted this weekend unless the weather is better tomorrow no thumbsdown

Agreed with Mark, the rain could be a sign from god to sit on the side of caution and double check prior to doing anything with it.

After all, its better to be safe then sorry, especially when you have spent so much money on it.

I have 2 working days to enquire about any problems.
So, I've sent them an email with the pictures.

Hope it is the right one!!

If its a recon head it will have had a skim - theres no way anyone would send out a (used) head that could be suspected to be warped - the only way to ensure the head is totally original is to buy a new one.

As for the different shapes - are you talking about the compression dish where the valves are? They probably appear slightly different as the head has been skimmed back a little.

TBH Slightly higher compression may give you a few more gee gees...

I've been told that the shape of the compression dishes (cheers stuy, didnt know what they were called lol) are fine.

They told me the head wouldn't be skimmed to save the cost of buying a thicker gasket? Which does seem a bit strange, unless they have skimmed it and have supplied a thicker gasket instead of a standard one?

I dunno lol.

If its not raining next weekend, I'll be fitting it then laugh

D'oh!

Just took a closer look at the old head and it's just the gasket marks that make it look different.

Silly me.
