Right, I got an amazing quote from Quinn Direct for my car insurance, £373.74, and as most companies wanted in the region of £600+, obviously I decided to take it. This was based on a 1 year NCB. Anyway it started on the 5th February, and last week I sent off my proof of NCB (my old insurance schedule), which I was advised would be fine. With the cover letter I provided with the schedule, I again noted that it was to prove my 1 year NCB. However, I have today recieved a letter from Quinn confirming that they have recieved the proof of NCB and it has been accepted etc. But the really weird thing is, they have noted that I have informed them that I am only eligable for 1 year NCB, however they have also informed me that this has been ammended to 3 years NCB after reviewing my proof, and that they have adjusted my annual premium accordingly. It has reduced my insurance to less then £300 per year. Just wondering if anyone has any idea if this is legal from my side, not to inform them that I deffo only have 1 year NCB and not 3 years. As Webby said earlier, I might never have recieved the letter if it had got lost in the post so I wouldnt know anyway if that had happened lol. Ive made it pretty clear to them that I have only 1 year NCB on at least three occasions, and it is them who have adjusted it to 3 years based on the evidence I have provided. Should I leave it as it is, and provided I don't claim this year, I will have a nice 4 year NCB certificate in my hands next year (and therefore able to protect it hehe), or should I really phone them up and inform them for the fourth time that I am only eligable for 1 year NCB? As far as I am concerned I have not lied to them and I have made it pretty clear, in both voice and writing that I am only eligable for 1 year NCB, and this is something that they have clearly acknowledged on more then one occasion in writing. Thanks guys

very very tricky one this, i'd be tempted to leave it, the chances of it biting u in the ass are slim, and if something does happen and they question it call on the correspondance u have been talking about. maybe phone and ask if they have a wierd policy, like 1yrs ncb = 3 if u drive a clio?

How long have you been driving?
Its a question some ask and it may bite you in the future if questioned.
You could end up with zero NCB if you cant prove 4 years NCB at renewal time.
What If There Were No Hypothetical Questions?

Av posted this on the Pug forums as well, and they have pretty much said that the only thing that can come of it is that I can be asked to pay more at a later date. Also, some lad on there has had a few problems as Liverpool Victoria gave him 3 years NCB and he is only 19, although if he were 20, the company he was getting a quote with said it would have been fine... Maybe its just a Liverpool Victoria thing??

same with me, i had 1 years ncb with liverpool victoria. switched to quinn direct for my new car and the letter came from liverpool vic saying i had 2 years so i sent it off to quinn and had it amended to 2 years ncb. its a common occurance i think. i've heard nothing back from them about it so i'd say go for it mate.
