Im sure I read something somewhere a few weeks ago that said some far eastern European country was taking the UK to the European courts as we where not letting enough of their people in FFS!!!

At least when brits emegrate they generally have to show that they can support themselves.

Generally I think its a bad idea that people should be able to come to the UK to work when there are so many jobless, capable people already over here, let along the people that come over and bludge off our taxes

Saying that, the ones that do come over for asylum seeking purposes and do menial, repetitive work, should accept a lower payscale in the comfort that they are safe.

This is correct stuy & what i pointed out earlier, we as immigrants as a rule do so for business or retirement purpose most of the time, i shouldnt imagine many brits move to spain to claim benefit lol.

Well said & as said by me earlier, within reason (non racist) comments are wanted rather than racist views, would just like to see peoples ideas.

Agreed webby,im not,and never will, be a racist. But there is,in my opinion nothing wrong with having a good old rant at lazy fuckers and peeps who come here for a meal ticket.

Australia have it right in this respect. U have to PROVE to be useful to them before your let in. that shud be the rule here

There are plenty of people who are British Citizens who dont have any intrest in working! And all these bag eds arnt classed as "unemployed" as they supposedly have a medical reason for not working.

Yeah its called being a druggy. Pakistani's and the like work damn hard in my personal experience and as revealed by Tonight With Trevor Macdonald, most of these eastern European immigrants are doing the crappest jobs you can imagine like cleaning public toilets etc, things which councils and employer's have not been able to find workers for, no matter how many people are "un-employed" in their area.

We live in a nanny state, Germany have got it right with their two tier system, you either work or you get very little off the state (maybe £20 a week). The only place where their system is questionable is sometimes it can force people who should'nt be working due to illness to work, due to the fact you have to satisfy VERY stringent requirements to claim sickness benefit of any type.

I don't agree with assylum seekers and the like not being allowed to work. Ok they dont get automatic work permits, but should they not be required to fulfill a full time scheme of helping the community by cleaning up etc, to get their benefits. Most of them claim to be here through persecution and the like, but I feel if this is the case they would be more then happy to help the country. But the government won't allow it.

Most of the blame lies at the goverments feet im afraid.

And yes there are some people taking advantage of loopholes in our system, but they are there to be exploited, and until they are removed they will be!

The thing that really irritates me is we accept asylum seekers who have blatantly come through other EU countries. I was under the impression it was the 1st safe port of call you were to claim asylum. Now unless they sail straight here thats not the UK! Granted some may be genuine, but many aren't and are unwilling to work.
I'm all for immigration, but it must be restricted, we already have over priced housing, and too little of it too.
