Well potentially as alot of people know, since the engine swap I've had problems from time to time gettin the car started from cold, and recently idling low...then cutting out if left for too long Today me & my branch manager may have finally realised whats wrong I'm still running the Fiesta 1.3 battery! we checked it with Excide (vehicle battery company) and the battery I need for the Escort engine is over 200 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) more powerful So basically My car is underpowered to run then the HU, sub & amp are all draining more from the battery So anyone thinkin of putting the likes of an escort engine into a fiesta, or something similar REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE BATTERY TO SUIT THE ENGINE!

Scoop, every car battery has a different CCA
the Fiesta one has about 350
the one for the Escort XR3 has just over 500
yes, they're all 12v, but the CCA are what get everything running and keep em runnin

Didn't know that. I often wondered why they ask in the shop before giving you it, even thought there are only two different popular connections.

Regardless of current situation, heres my views.
Yes the CCA rateing is different which would make the start crank at a slower rate, wtf has that got to do with the idle problems? None at all, so close but no cigar - and am tired and telling you whats up with it so maybe your branch manager can re-tell you that
