There was H A Clegg and sons, Stonemasons, Chester, this company had an input on the Birkenhead War Memorial, Hamilton Square.
There was a firm of Monumental masons on Holt Hill but I haven't found the name Clegg associated with them yet.

5 Holt Hill,
1911 Directory Maybe home addresses were:- James Hamilton (stonemason), 14 Park Road, Higher Tranmere Samuel W Hamilton (stonemason), 40 Mount Grove But still no link to Clegg for me.
There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. So far I've come across, James Hamilton snr, James Hamilton Jnr, Stonemasons and Robert James Hamilton, Quarry owner. No doubt many family connections in Stone masonry.
