Is the new gas pipe being laid along the lever causeway in preparation for all the houses that are going to be built on the green belt there?

Supposed to be putting in a new mains in part of Thornton Road, 330m of 125mm and 199m of 95mm.
iirc Levers Causeway has a gas main down its North side?

I imagine that will connect up with the new one they are installing. That looked to me about 125mm, but as I was driving past it was only a guess.
A lot more houses are going to need a lot more gas.

Lever Causeway was originally a part of an estate that Lord Leverhume was building a long time ago, all the drains and services are already underground, I did see the original plans at a talk on Levers probably about 10 or 15 years ago, They ran out of funds in the 20s/30s, shame really.

I think his 'estate' wasn't a housing estate!
It was - essentially - a large area of land rented out to farmers and designed to keep the likes of you and me well away from his house!
