Oh, and so far as the case of banning sausages from being allowed into Britain after Brexit ( i.e.unless we behave and do as we are told) we can make our own suasages ! Our butcher makes his own, I can make sausages, my granny could make sausages, the Tudors made sausages . In fact everyone can make Fine British Sausages even the kids, not forgetting Casper, as I;m sure he's the best. Nothing hard about doing that.
If an agreement is not reached, Irish sausages and German bratwurst could also disappear from the shelves of British supermarkets early next year.

We have plenty of meat processing factories in the UK - its just scare propaganda. For things we do import from the EU, does anyone actually believe that they are going to stop production and stop exporting to us? The concept is unimaginable, these are companies not the spiteful EU governance.
In any case we need a "Buy British" campaign again with a symbol on products where the manufacturer (including all their subsidiaries) either pay the majority of their tax in the UK, actually produce the item in the UK (not just package) or over 50% of the raw materials originate from the UK where the originator also pays the majority of their tax in the UK.
We've been manipulated into a very bad balance of trade by the EU, in the case of fish the figures are totally incredulous with France having 84% of Channel cod quota with UK only having 9% despite the majority of cod being in "our" waters. How did such in imbalance come about? How come other fish hungry countries like Holland not have more a more balanced quote. These are quotas which are legal limts not just catches.
Full marks to Poland and Hungary for trying to stop the EU from blackmailing them into subservient compliance. As much as I 100% disagree with Poland's stance on abortion, I fully support the right for the Country to make its own policy on it. If Ireland can shift policy under public pressure then I'm sure Poland can as well if there is sufficient public support.

At last some positive news! Well not for everybody I expect but I’m just glad a deal has been done and can we wave goodbye to the word Brexit so weary of it. Lets just get on with it and make it work for us , sure it will in the long run.. You do make me giggle Granny ha...
Nope, bad news, Boris lied, the EU can slap tariffs against us whenever they want and for whatever reason they want. If we do ratify this deal by the 1st of January I wouldn't be surprised if the threat of the first tariffs land on the 2nd January if we don't concede other demands from the EU.
Why on earth didn't he wait until after Jan 1st to negotiate a decent deal. If we had no deal we would have protection from unfair trading from the WTO, instead we are signing a waiver that leaves the UK totally unprotected.
Although the EU are still boasting they are the largest trading block, they aren't. They are on a back foot and need to retain their exports to the UK.
The deal we should have is the same deal as if we had never joined the EU, instead we are agreeing to the EU punishing us at will, forever.
There still would be no problem trading on WTO terms, we make a profit and the EU makes a loss on WTO terms because of the imbalance of trade. If we were on WTO terms the EU would soon agree a fair and honest trade deal to avoid continually punishing themselves financially.

Amazingly there is an escape clause of 12 months notice by either side, also some individual parts of the agreement can also be escaped separately from the overall agreement.
However the devil may be in the detail of the full agreement rather than the 191 section summary.
Although arbitration keeps on being referred to rather than enforcement, there is little detail on the power of the arbitrators ie if arbitration doesn't resolve an issue how can appeal and enforcement take place without going through a court somewhere.

Nope, you can't pin that on the Labour Party, its not a new expression.
It means a deal that is not comprehensive and leaves matters to be negotiated in the future.
The earliest usage I have found was 1998 in America but it was also used in the UK in 2001 with reference to devolution.
It is definitely not the best deal we can achieve with the EU, but to get better deals with EU we would have to enter a WTO period which for some unfathomable reason seems to be unacceptable to some people.
The EU have climbed down a small amount because they know they would have to give a lot more ground if we went into a WTO period with the EU because they would lose a lot of money.
We have climbed down a lot, we have given away more than half of our fishing rights, we haven't protected our main export which is the service sector, there is no proper regulatory structure in most of the deal which basically means almost everything is still up in the air for years to come.
