Forums Forums Wirral History : Chasing the Past Wirral History Would this be 'advertising' or not.....?

As a newbie on this forum, having seen the warnings about advertising, may I ask if I am able to mention three old books I have about the Wirral ?
I am simply a private individual who inherited the three books, and I thought they might interest one or two forum visitors interested in local history.
Can anyone offer me any advice please, or should I just advertise them on Ebay?

Yes, you can sell your books on here. I'm sure one or two members would be interested.

For the way to do it, scroll down to near the end of the list of topics (just beneath the local history section on my set-up) and there you will find a post explaining how to do it, and what is and isn't acceptable.

You will need a description and price, and the deal is between you and the buyer - Wiki is just the medium.

There is nothing wrong about advertising things for sale (within slight limitations eg not brand new items, they must be second hand).

The advertising rules are about companies or individuals advertising their services/business without agreement from admin.

I must be dim, but I am really struggling to find the "List of topics" you mention. Please can you give me a clue?

OK. but DD has put a link to it in his reply.. but you wanted to know where to find the list of topics. Here goes.

Under the green Wiki header there is a dark blue bar with the root to where you are on it. In my case, this is currently saying, in white letters -
'wirral forums > Forums > Wirral History > Would this be advertising or not?' because that is the page we are on.

If you click on 'Forums' on that line, or in the light blue line beneath it, you will be taken to a list of all the forums on this site, e.g., Wirral History.

You will see that each section has its own box which in turn contain the topics and their replies e.g., 'Would this be... etc.

So Forums is really your starting point to scroll down from.
