Notice for a year mow that the manned toll booths dont give you change to put in the machine but keep the toll money and open the barrier....thats great and speeds things up. but
why do they have both manned booths on the far left hand side as you come up from the M53 and have traffic streaming down from the wallasey roundabout making everyone having to weave across each other to get to a manned or automatic booth. accident waiting to happen

Possibly to minimise the operator risk by having them cross the minimum number of lanes?
I don't understand why nearly everybody that uses the tunnel doesn't have a fast tag, even if they only use it a few times a year.
I didn't know they had reverted to keeping payment in the manual booths, that practice was stopped when they sacked all but one operator for fiddling the money many moons ago. The same scam can't work since the automatic barriers were erected so they could have reverted years ago.
There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. Its high time they scrapped the booths and used the payment system that the Runcorn bridge uses.

Have you made a payment on the Runcorn system. It would be quicker to walk across the Mersey.
Then there is the issue of it earning £1m a month in fines which is immoral.
