Whatever the reason, enthusiasm for brexit seems to be on the wane.

I can only assume your comment is tongue in cheek. I voted to remain, given another chance I would vote leave.I like others am better informed now than pre referendum. Unlike some I see good and bad in both camps but in the balance, and is only my "opinion" leave is the better option.I do not wish to be part of a dictatorship and refuse to accept the short term easy option of capitulation.Jam tomorrow has been the promise all my life and I can not think of a ruling class that put the majority first.A hack that needs to resort to a headline like this and is quoted as an "interesting observation" is questionable to the extreme.

I watched the clip. Nothing to do with waning enthusiasm merely natural process of age , statistics and death. The brexit generation is the one that has grown up with EU from its sensible EEC Common Market days (and probably voting for it) to seeing the UK sold down the river sovereignly by ideological politicians.. They are the generation who have waited patiently as successive governments kept promising and reneging on referendums. They are the generation whose fathers and fathers laid down their lives all over Europe to stop the Nazi european union. Hopefully they will see the reward of their patience...

Well I would like to know what Ex's continued obsession is with Brexit. It goes on and on. He keeps raising the same issues and listens to nothing from anyone. Brainwashing , but not very good at it !

We do of course know there are people being asked to barrage different sites with the negatives for Brexit and to use propaganda in an attempt to encourage a different outcome if another referendum of any sort is managed to be forced on us as a people.

Maybe Ex is one of those.

I have yet to hear a convincing argument for leaving.

Slogans like "Taking back control" or "Sovereignty" and blue passports don't cut it for me. Westminster seems to me to have provided London with a very good level of government but it has been done at the expense of the rest of the country.

The EU at least put its money where its mouth was and invested huge sums in parts of the UK traditionally ignored by the Westminster Government.

Enthusiasm for Brexit IS on the wane, despite dustymclean's swing in the opposite direction or my opposition to it. I think this is pretty clear evidence for it:

Almost impossible to poll peoples true feeling on the Brexit principle, a lot will be voting on the perceived negotiation skills of the current Government which in turn is virtually wholly based on the media's version.

If we have a "complete" Brexit, even though we are not under any of the European Courts jurisdictions, in the event of an unfair deal we can still use those courts to reverse the deal, until the point of departure the EU has a duty of care to us as EU citizens (in the same way as an employer can't be unfair to you during your notice period). If there is any perception of punishment then that is illegal.

Would you consider becoming part of the United States of America or a province of China or a division India? There are near enough similar arguments for those than those of being in the EU.

Within 5 years Poland will want to leave the EU, they don't at the moment purely because of the huge amount of subsidies they get from the EU but that bribery will not last another 5 years. After that there is little chance the EU can continue to exist in its current form.

A strong UK-Poland alliance would benefit both nations in a controllable format. This is already starting to happen with recent agreements.

Agh the brainwashing..."its money". It probably spent "our" money in areas that needed convincing an EU superstate was a good idea whilst creaming off its slice. I also dont like the idea that the EU has taken authority over our own government (Con or Lab) if it is indeed able to invest where it likes

Correct @fish, the EU didn't invest a penny, it controlled our money/investment.

Post WW1 and up to Thatcher the Government did a good job of investing and building up the country, then we went all right-wing and American.
