You are a very naughty granny, where did I mention getting rid of the Queen? Well Casper, I am impressed. I had no idea you were a Royalist. Well done that man. Eat your heart out Oliver Cromwell.

Its her place of work and we employ her, she doesn't even particularly like Buckingham Palace. Asking someone to pay for repairs to their employers property is ludicrous.
She has plenty of residences of her own: Sandringham House, Balmoral Castle and Craigowan Lodge being the main ones she uses.
There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. Not nearly as ludicrous as making the public pay for it at a time when all Councils are having their budgets slashed, we desperately need more houses and the NHS is in dire financial straits.

Palemoon, you are not understanding. It is not coming out of the public taxes . It is coming out of the Crown Estates.
The Crown Estate is an independent real estate business established by Act of Parliament. Its surplus revenue is paid each year to the Treasury for the benefit of the nation's finances.
In this case, Bucks Palace belongs to the nation, and as explained above, comes under the 'nation's finances'.
