Taboo on BBC 2

The series was recently aired on BBC and come to an end last week however BBC 2 are repeating it late of an evening, episodes 2 and 3 on last night, 4 tonight (I think) and all on catchup also.

Absolutely brilliant, I don't normally enjoy period stuff so never watched the start of the series until a few mates told me to give it a try, was hooked from the moment I started to watch it!

It's out on bluray on May 29th

I recorded this and have just watched it, tragic such a magnificent elephant and still was growing.I knew about Jumbo by watching a programme call American Pickers, two guys that go around old barns and places buying old stuff and they came across a guy who had the bell from the train that hit poor Jumbo, don't think they bought it as couldn't be proved. What I didn't know was about him coming from England and his early years. Extremely sad!!

Rubbish tele, consistently.

I can't understand why they spend so much on things like certain celebrities having a walk in the snow in the artic, or sailing up the Nile in a canoe. One minute they judge baking competitions , next they're in Asia doing funny dances. Must cost a fortune to ship out all the camera crew, producers, make-up artists, translators, etc.etc.

I did watch the BAFTA's at the weekend, something I haven't watched for years. That was an eye opener too, for reasons it's better not to show, but I will say that ' For Sama' that won an award, is another propaganda documentary . That husband is connected to some horrific people and now he lives in London !

I can't disagree with you granny, the screen seems to be dominated by celebrity this that or the other, they manufacture opportunities for themselves, they even get paid for the so called charity shows like the chase, bake a cake, sing a song dance a dance the so called soaps are dross dressed up as "real life"

I agree with all points...too many these stupid shows and celebrity this and that. I always think they make the questions so easy to make sure the celebs don’t come across as too stupid, I like watching all the programmes set in Alaska about living subsistence lifestyle and off grid but a lot of them I think once they become popular seem to play to the camera.
Just watched a programme showing bits of Hollywood actresses being interviewed, Bette Davies, Joan Crawford etc , love these kind of things. Sylvia Syms narrates these shows, they’re great. All the legends , don’t make them like that anymore and just heard the great Kirk Douglas has died, sad another legend gone but he was 103 , r.i.p. ( I am Spartacus) ...
