UPDATE

How about:

1) Poems, Limericks, Raps, Odes, Nursery Rhymes.

2) Any theme

3) As long or as short as one wishes

4) Only ONE entry per session from each member

5) Each poem MUST have a title (to assist in the voting)

6) Each entry to be pm'd to Granny, who will then post on the topic without linked identities .

7) Given dates to enter.......followed by one week for voting.

8) Overlapping the voting week, with starting a new session.

9) All voting will be via a 'Poll Box'

[/quote]

Mark, where does the 'POLL' show up, please ? Does that go to you ?

Title
single choice
Poem title (100%, 1 Votes)
"" (0%, 0 Votes)
" (0%, 0 Votes)
" (0%, 0 Votes)
" (0%, 0 Votes)
Total Votes: 1
Voting on this poll ends: 19th Oct 2015 11:34am

Thats quite a lot of categories. Depends how many poems come in of what type I suppose. Might find its a case of default winners in some categories especially if initial interest levels off. Still it means more people getting wins! (I personally dont think it would be too hard even with minimum no. of categories for people to decide which poem they like best for whatever reason )
Could always try it with no categories and see how many you get in , and if loads, you could split into appropriate number of categories yourself before voting starts?

No Venice, maybe I haven't explained properly.

For example, If anyone wishes to write a 'limerick' they can, opposed to a 'rap' or a 'nursery rhyme'. They won't be in categories, it's simply an open choice and voting will be against each individual entry, not as part of any category .

This is becoming more like XFactor ! laugh

Ha ha ! I have just figured out how the 'Poll' works. Once the end date and time is passed, it automatically shows the result. Brilliant! Liking this idea better now. Almost ready for the off! Hope you have all got your paper and pens at the ready smile

Shall I start?

Who received a parcel through the post,
And in it he observed a crystallised turd
And the balls of his grandfather's ghost."

I thank you.

Well done Lud. You should have sent it to 'granny' so we don't know who is the rude one !

Now about to start a new thread for this Poetry Competition. Yours shall be first on the list Ludwig.. thank you. It needs a title. Shall we call it 'Balls of a Ghost' ?
