I could of told what garages like when insurance companies are involved, there are just pains in the ar*e. the number of phone calls i took about cars not being ready and people being in the same situation as you is beyond beleaf(sp).
I would of told them i was taking it to a garage of my choice and thats all there is to it. you are allowed to do this as its just cheaper for an insurance company to use a garage on its panel as they get discount on parts and labour.
