For £2.5K you could easily have a 2.0l under your bonnet.

I'm sure for £2500 you could get something that'd give as much power as a supercharger B18 like andy had in his civic, generates 190bhp@fly standard, I know it's from a different manufacturer but for that kinda money it's more than likely possible. I have a vauxhall engine and box in the samurai, all went in for a touch over £1600. Surely a 2.0l red top would fit?

Ur cars a GTI right gary? Surely thats quick enough as is,a few choice mods and u should see over 150BHP fly, then 50-75 of spray and that has to be fast enough for you til u can afford a proper car.U plan on driving a supermini all ur life,i think u'll grow out of it and start wanting a good car in a year or so (ie,2l turbo coupe or saloon) I want out of the hatchback game now and into the world of 200SXs or MR2s

There's something to like about having a pocket-rocket, I wouldn't have one as my only car but would like to do something similar one day. A nova rally car with a red top in or something, just for a little blast the odd weekend and for trackdays (sorry gary - thread hijack over)

for 2k i can get cams re-mpa 4-2-1, exhaust etc etc that would see 170 reliable but S/C is 50 more!
only one guy i know of has stuck an MI16 in a gti, and when he rang ecosse for help they told him it oculdnt be done. thats how hard it is

That guy who put the MI-16 in the 106 need a wide arch kit and didnt they say it was somewhere around £10'000 in labour alone???
Remember reading it in a mag. hell of car. why dont you just get a turbo conversion from pug-performance .

I oughta give you a slap for starting such a thread And just think all the Saxo slating you have done in the past.... And 220bhp in an 800kg car - beating a decent power skyline to 100 Id like to see the Saxo get a decent start without just sitting there and scrabbling
