Git to pick missus up at T3 Friday morning 8:30. Got stung last time was up there by being signposted into car park at T2 with barrier that only took plastic cards (no cash). Anyone have recent knowledge of T3 arrivals departure areas. Plan is to tell missus to try and walk to the T3 drop off point which I presume is free. Not sure how easy it's to do that? Anyone with recent experience? ta
other half has said the T3 drop off is right next door to where the arrivals are(?).....he also said try and park up in the garage, and text her to text you when she is outside.
Green your route. Blue where you can temp stop but dont leave your vehicle. Red the paid multi storey car park. orange way out of T 3 (doors).
So your wife just needs to turn right as she comes out the doors. Parking directly in front is nearly always taken up by taxis. So no advantage to park in front.
Its a one way system so if you cant find a place to stop then you have to go around again turning right, right, right.
Brill guys..let you know how it goes. Did read they were getting shirty about parking up at the garage so will give her plenty of time to arrive and do the drive round if shes not there.
If I am going to the airport to pick up Mrs and get there early I come off the M-way to the airport but then go past the airport towards Wythenshaw on Ringway Rd. After about a mile and a bit and on right OPPOSITE the Moss Nook House pub (on the left) is a small road, almost a track.
I park in there (taxis park there as well). When I get the "I am here" phone call it is just a quick exit left out of that small road and down to the airport to make a pick up outside the doors of the terminal. 5 mins max
DO NOT park by the Moss Nook ie on the right because you have to cross the traffic lanes and it can be a bugger to get from there back into the traffic flow towards the airport.
Done this lots of times

I dont think that road exists anymore and the route if your going there is along Hotel Road then right at roundabout and right again at the mini roundabout. It may just bee a google map error. But ive never seen that cut through as there is a huge multi storey there.
Just in case you thought you could get onto Meet and greet road.
Mission Accomplished: Hit the airport around 8:40. No text so headed for Snodvans lane (dummy run on google street view night before) and sure enough several others all waiting. Not there 5 mins before she texts. As said its less than 5 mins away and there shes waiting shivering in the Manchester rain from a Ugandan 33C to a UK 9C. Cheers guys
Well worth it for others to remember that stand-by lane. Not pretty but it WORKS because you do not have to cross any traffic lanes when you emerge and head for the airport
Cheers
