And post your problem there, when I had infinity installed last February I had problems with connections dropping out (not speed) but I posted on the BT forum and the moderators on there (BT employees) took over the problem completely and even organised engineer visits to overcome the problem.

It took three visits in total to finally resolve things but the moderation team were excellent, keeping in touch to see how things were going and by doing it that way it avoids the hell that is putting yourself in the hands of the BT call centre.

I would stress that you need to be sure that the fault is caused by the BT equipment/connection before any visits take place as they will charge you if the fault is due to wiring after the master socket, but the moderators will talk you through some simple fault finding to determine what the likely cause is before escalating things.

Good luck

I can't speak highly enough of the guys on the BT forum.
I had a problem a couple of months ago that got more complicated the longer it went on. Posted it on there and one of the mods handed it over to a lovely lady who followed it through every inch of the and got it sorted within 2 weeks.

Thanks, I'll give them a try smile

the problem with bt is
its fibre to the exchange, fibre to the green box at the end of your road or down the road.

from the green box its a digital signal to the pole on your street, but the problem is from the pole its a copper wire to your house. the bottle neck is there. converting from digital to analogue and back to digital.

there will always be a problem with bt speeds, false advertising about there infinity line.

I don't see any false advertising in what BT offer, the service is offered as either FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) or FTTP (Fibre to the property)- where available at extra cost.

When you sign up for Infinity, BT will provide an estimate of download speed you can expect to see on your line . In my case they estimated speeds of upto 62Mb but I regularly get in excess of 70. Obviously the further away from your property the cabinet is then the greater the losses over the copper part of the circuit but as I said, they will advise what speed you as an individual customer can expect to see before you commit to the installation

all isp providers use the same line when selling you there products.

"speeds up to" that is there get out of jaill free line.
until fibre is directly into your house/flat speeds will never be what they say they are.

they sell us unlimited broadband, but block sites.
breach of contract right there.

you say you get 62mb but most of the time you get 70mb
i bet your package is a 100mb line, so your paying for 100mb but can only get 70mb on a good day.

goto france as there close 128mb line standard across europe
