A man suffered arm and leg injuries after he was hit by a car on a Merseyside motorway.
Police confirmed the man was hit near a bridge on the southbound carriageway of the M53 in Upton not far from Junction 2 Moreton Spur.
He was taken to hospital although his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The driver of a Toyota - possibly the car that hit the man - stopped at the scene.
Police hope to speak to the injured man later today.
As a result of the incident a lane was closed southbound between Junction 2 Moreton Spur and Junction 3 Woodchurch.
The speed limit was reduced to 30 mph. The lane was reopened around 8am.
