I did not know about coal mines in neston.
What a fascinating story. The court case involving blowing up each others tunnels for competition proper history

If your interested in the Neston Miners, there is an excellent article about the Neston Coal mines in local author "Greg Dawson"'s book "Wyrale" goes into great detail about the local families involved.

Wirral U3A are having a talk by Anthony Annakin-Smith about Neston Collieries on Monday 2nd Dec Williamson Art Gallery 10.40 with tea/coffee and biscuits beforehand. It is £1.50 for members and perhaps £2 for visitors.
