Just wanted to say what I had a problem with was the promise of the "broadband for £3 a month" there was no mention that you had to purchase line rental, you could only use specific providers and you had to pay the whole amount up from. Couldn't they of got the 3 mobile network involved???

Our NHS will be privatised before we can fight back, this government seem to like to throw us off the issue's that we need to know about and pass them through the house of commons whilst they make other issues apparent in the media for us to turn against each other and make others scapegoats. That doesn't mean that if we all join together our voices can't be heard and cause a bit of revolt!

You can't afford 220 pounds for a PC - try gumtree, you can get an internet capable one for about 30 pounds. If all he wants to do is job search and write CV's, it'll do the job and more.
You honestly can't expect to be given something. I've been on the dole before, and it's grim, but I managed on what was essentially a hand out.
I looked into broadband recently for my new house, and no mention on ANY advert had line rental included in the price - you don't pay the broadband provider the line rental, you pay the line operator (ie BT). It is assumed you have a phone line already, and you pay rental on that. I plan on moving soon, so I didn't want a 12 month contract - and running contracts cost a lot more, so I stuck with using my IPhone as a wireless modem as I'm paying £30 a month for that anyway.

Try getting a wireless dongle and buy credit for it. I found I didn't even use £10 worth in a month, and that was downloading as well.

You could get a second hand smart phone reasonably cheap and go and see the helpful staff at the 3 mobile shop. I managed to get sim only contract with unlimited data that averages out at £8:50 per month.

I also have a pay as you go internet dongle from before I had a smart phone. It works very well. One of them with a second hand pc/laptop would work very well and very cheap.
