It's in the left hand column, underneath basic pay. It's the same amount as the basic pay, but just says u.u.a £......c at the end. Does this makes he sense?

A Union subscription ? You can just ask in work as it sounds like a deduction your not aware of ?

Nope. It's my partner's wage slip and he is currently off sick. He received his wage slip this morning and that's what was on it. By the looks of things, he is only getting paid £100 this month!

Has he been signed off? It could mean Unauthorised Absence?

I've tried google, but no luck. I think it does mean unauthorized absence. He's going to try and sort it tomorrow. Thanks though everyone.

Presumably if its in the gross pay column it would be an adjustment to his weekly/monthly taxable pay, I would bet on Unauthorised Absence, especially if his pay is lower than expected.
Google will not be of much use, Payroll pay elements are usually tailored to how the employer sets them up, unless its a Statutory deduction like Tax, NI, SSP etc.
