Hi can anyone in Green Lane area help? (or I may be able to get a lift further out)
I have a Canon 550d but it wont turn on.
I bought a new battery and put it in without charging and camera turned on, so I turned off and charged battery but now camera wont turn on again. I think it may be charger breaking batteries but before I buy a new charger and battery I would like to ask if anyone has one that can help?
battery is a LP-E8 I think the same is in 600d.
I phoned fairs who don't have chargers and couldnt help.
I will try Jessops next or Canon.

Im no expert but I guess as a last resort you could put a multi meter on the battery and check the voltage. The + / - terminals look clearly marked on a lp-e8 as well as the voltage.

Thanks I have tested the battery and its ok I am going to have to bite the bullet and send to Canon.
It must be something like the on/off switch or something simple I've not dropped it of got it wet.

i think there are contacts on the battery and memory card covers that can turn the camera off if they dont close properly.
