If system restore did not work, you could try another restore point or try to start in safe mode. When the laptop is booting up, keep pressing F8 until it comes up with a few suggestion of how to start.Click on last known good configuration and see where that takes you.
It may help if you know what operating system you are using.
Good luck.

it reads like you have associated the shortcut property to be opened by adobe. Or a virus may be playing tricks.

system restore as above does sound like your easiest workaround / fix.

If the icons where for applications , you should be able to right click on each individually , then there should be an option to (open with) choose this then pick the associated program. If you don't know the program , when you right click go to find target first this should then point you in the right direction.

It is a virus, all your program's have been associated with adobe software.

Back up your photos/personal items and do a factory restore.
