I see that the old MFI building by B&Q is under reconstruction. Anyone know what it is going to be?

According to someone on another thread recently, Halfords are moving into the old MFI and the currant Halfords site is going to be a drive through style fast food outlet.

me personally think it should be a burger king drive thru just like i think the little chef should be in eastham.

Looking at the plans it doesn't look like a fast food drive-thru, it seems like Halfords is going to be split into three units, that's not to say one retailer won't snap up all three though. Maybe it will be a Subway or Costa, shame though because Wallasey hasn't got a drive through fast food outlet. McDonalds got planning permission for a drive-thru on a plot of land by Kelvin Rd but didn't go ahead with it, the land was then used as a haulage trailer yard but is now a vacant lot again. A burgerking would be great as there is nowhere you can get one locally at night. Much better than McDonalds mush.

Speaking with a contractor on site this morning. It will be 4/5 separate units, similar to those opposite Cammell Lairds. None have yet been acquired so, Halfords are not moving nor will there be a fast food drive-in as far as anyone knows.
