Hi all,

I'm looking for information on what used to be the old champion spark plugs plant. I presume it was farm land but does anyone have any maps/pictures of the area and any farms?

Thank you
Sarah

There is something with a map on the History forum, it was a farm but it was storage for ammunition in WWII it was also an army camp, there's info about a letter from the farmer saying why don't you use it as an industrial site and it would be too expensive to return to farmland when it was returned from military use.

Champion's factory was built on Arrowe House Farm, the farm house and other buildings were located on the corner of Arrowe Park Road and Arrowe Brook Road. A small part of the former army camp, which had been de-requisitioned in 1955, was included in the site.
