I am sure there is a law against this? Fog lights are dazzling to other road users....! Originally posted by rossi-foci: yeah definately! i know, i mean, foglights when its not foggy.....send them to jail!!! i don't think they should go to jail! it just annoys me. the majority that do it are boy racers. "wahhhhhh check out me foggy's they give me 20+ bhp" typical chav quote i just can't see why people do it?? I could understand if visability was really bad but most of the time its clear and not even dark yet! IF you have your fog lights on people, why do you do it!? Also, why do you only have your 'side lights' on and fogs!!!! PMSL What are peoples views on this? Does it annoy you?

It is against the law to use your fog light when visibility is +100 yards. (somthing like that). In fairness some people just forget to turn it off. Some dash board displays are poor at reminding you that its still on. Fogg lights are wired into your lights circut. So you normally have to switch the lights to at least "Side lights" to turn on the Fogg Light. Hope this helps

I think people do it coz the fogs are lower than the headlights and hence make the car look lower. I agree it's really annoying on unlit roads, especially when they're following you coz you can't actually see ahead as easily! It doesn't really bother me on lit roads as it does no harm. Just my 2p

they all need their eyes burnt out with hot bright pokers!!!!
ITS NOT BIG, ITS NOT CLEVER, YOU LOOK (very) STUPID, IT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR CAR LOOK ANY BETTER, AND YOU DONT GO ANY FASTER, so WHY bother!!!
especially when your driving round urban/sub-urban area's where there's plenty of street lights!
i cant stand muppets who think its "cool" to have their foglights on.
biggest culprits i've seen are - new Clio's (especially black ones) new Corsa's, Focus's, BMW's (any model) and Saxo's.

I do tend to drive with my front "Driving Lamps" on, they are not "Fog Lights" and therefore it is Legal to drive with them on under Normal driving conditions.
I drive with them on for several reasons, Visability being first and foremost, they offer a much improved & Wider close sight of vision. Secondly i do think it improves the look of the car contary to some peoples opinions
I Do agree with the majority here though, if they are "Fog Lamps" they do tend to blind you slightly and it is very annoying.Just my pennies worth anyway's..........

I think what Vicki is gettin her Knickers in a twist (Ohhhh Errrrrhhh) about is people blinding you from behind due to the fog lamps being on and i find myself agreeing with her , You car looks nice with them on but if they were blinding me then i'm sorry but you would get abused of me.......

Its funny actually. Once we were stopped at traffic lights at the top of Townfield Lane. Its a bit of an awkward junction as the traffic coming in the opposite direction is sort of... well not quite dead ahead of you... do you know what I mean?!? Anyway this chavvy person had her fogs on. My dad full beamed her whilst sitting waiting. She obviously was not happy as she started flashing. As she went past she shouted knob head at him. Me and my dad bust into a fit of giggles. It was so funny. Fogs do annoy me. I think they just do it to make themselves look good. i.e. "Look at me, I have a car" etc

i have 2 pair of driving lamps in my bumper that i have on sometimes, i was never sure about the law so im very careful bout rozzers sein them, theyre not that bright and i think they do make the car look nicer. If someone has fogs on and blinds me headin towards me on a really dark road up here in jockland then i will hit em in the face with my 4 drivers and my ultra zenon hi beams.Hope they have to slam on cos they cant see the enbankments.T***s.Dazza do u ever notice ur rear foglight is on and u only realise when u move your head down and to the right to get round the s,wheel.Hu designed these cars.Think ill wire up a little led which ill put on my dash so i can see when my rears r on cos they(it) look aweful.Anyone know the legality of having two rear fogs. All cars ive seen only have one in the centre or the right hand one workin(i know that is the law) can u have two

Anyone know the legality of having two rear fogs. All cars ive seen only have one in the centre or the right hand one workin(i know that is the law) can u have two The law states that you must have at least one rear fog lamp positioned to the offside rear of the vehicle, secure and in a good working condition, Also there must be a "Warning Light" on the dashboard to indercate when your rear fog lamp is switched on. You can have 28 rear fog lights if you so wish as long as you meet the above criteria
