There are some very unhappy Tesco staff who have set up a web site called very little helps, check it out!! Some really bad photos of the type of thing staff have to put up with, bad deliveries, ( most drivers are foreign agency these days), poor management, and some horror stories from their side of the coin. i speak as an ex employee from down south and the attitude is still very much the same from most staff as they are hassled by managers permanatley. Go sick and its the Spanish inquesion!! I was in hospital and got a warning for taking time off!!! Check out very little helps!!

I was in Tesco Bidston a while ago with my friend, who picked up a couple of bottles of wine on offer. One of their staff who was collecting an order for a lady told my friend she could not have them as they were ordered! We both pointed out they were on the shelf for customers, but he was adamant that the lady with him was having all off the shelf!! Outrageous we thought, and complained to customer services instore, no point at all! We were kept waiting for ages, then told it was company policy to honour orders!! Next time they have a great offer on we should all ring and reserve the whole lot, then just not turn up--would serve them right! We thought it was very unfair, I shop in Asda mostly now.

it has been reported today that due to a downturn in profits Tesco are cutting back on expansion plans, wonder whether that will have any effect here? I live quite close and it's good to see the area slowly shaping up after years of being an unsightly blight. I'm afraid Mayall's didn't really fit in with the plans anyway so I'm not surprised to see it go (of course I feel for any of the staff out of a job)
I have to ask myself however, do we really need another 'convenience' store? We already have the Co-op on Trafalger Road and Morrisons, Asda, Tesco stores of all sizes in abundence within a 8 mile radius. How much food and drink can the good folk of N.E. Wirral consume for heavens sake....???
