Not sure if this is the right section, but ill put it here anyway.

I am a music producer and DJ based on the Wirral and I am currently stuck looking for a new venue to play.
In this industry its all about having contacts, knowing people who can get spots or recommend you to places/people, opposed to the best people with the best skills getting the job. I am not originally from the Wirral and this makes it harder.

I have had my music played in 92 Countries around the world with thousands of downloads, and it would be perfect if I had a local venue to play or contacts that could help me with events in the future.

So I am asking does anybody have any ideas/contacts that could maybe trigger something to aid me secure a venue in or around the Wirral.

Any help is much appreciated.

Try "Revolver" opposite Cammell Lairds. It is a live music venue. One of the best in the NW.If they can't help you-they might know someone who can!! :-)

How did you find out about being played in 92 countries/downloads thing?

Hi there. Ive been DJing for 20 years now at home and abroad but no where much any more. There is practically no scene whatsoever on the Wirral outside the typical cheesy bar scene. The only people I know of who are making a real go of it over here are the lads behind the averde' night at Revolver. They also play regularly on the House/dance show on Saturday night on 7waves radio. 92.1 fm. Sometimes calling themselves the Wirral House Mafia.

You could try getting in touch with them via facebook. They might play some of your stuff on the show.

Get in touch with the fella who runs this site http://www.stevebutchjones.com/SGIndex.html its his site and plays mixes peolpe send him on his show he does each week, he maybe able to help with venues as well. He put a couple of nights on himself in The LemonLounge in Liverpool a few years back and done old skool nights which went ok but its paying for the venue then having to get enough people to pay on the night to at least break even with the origianl outlay.

If you want my honest opinion though then the whole "dj scene" is an absolute joke!

people will do anything to stab you in the back and take gigs off you. Ive been working the wirral and liverpool 3 nights a week for the last 4 years and ive recently taken a step back and had a break from it and i can see now how fickle and bitchy the scene is. Its like a soap opera no one truly likes each other.

Liver Radio are looking for presenters. google it. :-)
