'The Silver Pigs' by Lindsey Davies, which is the first of the Marcus Didius Falco books. I've already read some of the others. Not very good at reading books in chronological order! They're whodunnits with a wrily humorous touch, set in Rome around AD70. She really brings the place and the people (well, except the ones she bumps off!) to life.

Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution by Steven Levy.
Brilliant book if you're interested in hacker culture, read it a few times previously.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Eric Carle reading this to Yuna aged 8 months One pickle, one cup cake, one slice of watermelon that is one lovely book, fond memories of reading that over and over and over and over and over and over and over to my daughter reading the 3rd book in the series 'Song of ice and fire' (game of thrones) by George RR Martin , fantastic series so far, characters are so well developed, plot lines are deep and the end of each chapter leaves you wanting more and more.

I've just started the 5th book, A Feast Of Crows. Agree with everything you say about it. Can't wait for the Others to come in to it. Recently read the The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice by Christopher Hitchens. Exposes the old bag as quite a charlatan.

The Genesis Secret by Tom Knox. About Gobekli Tepe, a stone temple, in Turkey which was deliberately buried (for real) in 8000bc. Knox fictionalised this story but most of the religious, historical and archaeological references are facts and accurte. Grippin readin. Only 1/4 through and people still being murdered. Some scientific insights and biblical mysteries not revealed yet. Recommend.
