Hi my friend has just come across British war medal awarded to 9917 p/t L. Meldon LETNS.R.
I have done quite a bit of research on WW1 soldiers but am stumped at this regiment.
Has anyone got any idea what it could be?

I no longer have membership to ancestry,so unable to check medal card index.

I have ancestry subscription but can you tell me exactly what to search for? Forgive me I'm not familiar with military records.
I have found a L.Mildon, regiment number 9917 from the Leinster Regiment????
