at the moment ive got the factory fitted cd player in my 03 mk4 astra sxi and its controlled by the paddles on the steering wheel,,, if i replace the radio do i loose the ability to control it with the paddles or can new stereo be wired into the paddles???

It can, you need to buy a stereo that has the caperbility to accept paddel controls from a car, then you need to buy a converter from autoleads. I went through motor world when I got mine but I dont know how helpfull halfrauds will be. U could try the net or tell me the make and model of your car and the headunit you are putting in and i'll see what you need to get..
