i was riding the 18 back from Upton when i went past the heights and noticed one of them had all the glass windows removed and fencing around. seems like they're finally demolishing all 3 of them (not sure about the lone one near Cherry Tree Road) from the top down. (no explosives sadly)
thats millhey heights well was in the good old days, i grew up there, and was allowed up there to the 13th floor last week to see our flat we grew up in as children, while they were a nice community, i took some pics if anyone is interested the demolition guys said this block is being taken apart as its too close to the houses, but the other two are being blown up when they are empty,
will upload them later, they are mostly our flat which is demolished inside they have taken all the interor walls down and there are a few views out of the windows, we saw a peice of our wallpaper from 35 years ago, very odd feeling,
High rise flats down Birkenhead are getting soft stripped over the next few weeks, then covered in scaffolding over the next 7 weeks, then demolition.
