I'm hoping you might know somebody who can help me. I'm a local primary teacher. 4 years ago, I took up the voluntary responsibility of organising cross country races for 8-11 year olds on the Wirral. We have 6 or 7 races a year with an average of about 400 children running in each race (we are apparently the second largest in the country!). We have received funding from the council for the last few years, however next year that will stop. It costs £110 per event in medal costs and a further £25 for St John’s Ambulance cover.
If the races are to continue we are going to need a sponsor to help cover the costs. If you know of anybody who could help I’d be very grateful. It might interest you to know that there are normally 600-800 people at the events so any company/organisation would be getting good advertising!
Thanks for reading. Andy.
