Well don't know if it has been mentioned, but Woodchurch High School is being knocked down this summer.

Yeah I went to Hemmy, from 1950-December 54, Mr Amlot was the teacher when I was in L3A, liked Art/woodwork/english/maths but hated sport, still do.

God help us,
Come yourself,
Don't send Jesus,
This is no place for children.

Kirklands Secondary Modern, Rock Ferry. No longer in existance but a good school many years ago. Girls one side of the school and lads the other. We had some real interesting staff teaching during my time. Mr Stockly science, Geof Arnold, English, Ema Davies, Art, Pritchard, History. The latter Pritchard would send you to join the girls class in the playground if you were caught looking through the window at them playing netball during his lesson. Didn't learn much at the time but but it was quite an education just attending the place.

Cathcart Street, yeh great days - a brilliant school that should never have been demolished. We had really good football and cricket teams ran by speedy, I was proud to pull on the red and white stripes at borough rd playing fields.Mr Goodier was our Headmaster with Mr George and Mr Cooper, Miss Quarry and Mr Baker in support.
I left in 1963 to become a Birkenhead Idiot along with Richie O` Brien.
