I bumped into an old mate over the weekend and we were taking a stroll down memory lane, as you do. He reminded me of the night when we got trapped in our mate's Mini in Borough Rd, Bikenhead, due to terrible flooding. The floods were awful. Lots of animals were drowned in that pet shop on the corner of Whetsone Lane. But my most vivid memory was when we left the Mini. We tried to escape the water, which was a couple of feet deep,and walked towards Oxton Rd only to be confronted by, what looked like waves coming towards us down the hill. As the waves got closer we realised that it was a sea of RATS. Bloody hell! did we run. Talk about fear gives you wings.
