i am looking for information on an austin van owned by birkenhead buses. the number was PBG 652. i think it was the l d range. i presume it was the engineers van or maybe cleaners.

I've had a trawl through the various books I've got on B'head Corp. buses. The only references I can find to non-passenger stuff are the various old buses that were converted to recovery vehicles, tree loppers etc. The Austin van is a mystery.

Some folk down at the Tram/Bus Museum have an in-depth knowledge of the Birkenhead's fleet. Might be worth asking ?

hi,came across it on a guys facebook page who was an ex bus driver,he had a few diffrent pics and i remember your post so right clicked it,if you want to ask him how he got it or for any info he might have let me know and ill message you his name/link..

just checked his page again but he has no info about this pic apart from what it is i.e. birkenhead van.

Might be mistaken but it looks like it's parked outside the old Whitbread/Birkenhead brewery site in Livingston st, next to the pub The Old English Gent.
