Currently using the speaker on my phone if I get a call in the car. The speaker just isnt cutting it though. So Im thinking of going with a Bluetooth setup. I have 3 choices. - Bluetooth Visor device
- Bluetooth Rear Mirro
- Bluetooth adapter for Blaupunkt Head Unit
The Bluetooth Visor kit is coming in around £20ish. The rear mirror is about £60 and the head unit adapter is going to hit about £100 Ive seen mixed reviews on the mirrors, some suffer charging problems. Is the cheap visor the cheap and nasty variety? And are the HU kits as good as they seem to be? Dont know whether I like all the wires (on show wires rather than HU connection wires) that comes with the HU kit. Looking for input from those who have either looked into this or have purchased.

Just taken a look at the Parrot devices. Certainly not the cheapest lol. Interesting devices though.

My ex company car came with a Nokia CK-7W bluetooth car kit installed, and i have no complaints about it at all, and, if i bought a new car that didn't have one, then the first thing i would do would be to get one installed.
Not the cheapest option by far, but reliable, with auto connection, no charging worries, and everything hidden apart from a small volume and answer knob. Then you can get in and drive off without even thinking about connecting anything or turning it on.

Ive been looking on Play and they have all sorts of options.
Im really looking for something minimal impact, so that you almost dont realise its there. Dont need a screen to tell me who is calling or all sorts of call options etc because the phone, a HTC Touch Pro 2, sits in a screen mount easily within view.
Im just looking for a minimal impact best output option, if that makes sense.

I'd have a look on eBay for a basic Parrot device, even a secondhand one. If you get the visor type you'll forget to charge it for when it is needed, the rear mirror ones are (of the ones I've seen) poor quality and do need a bit a wiring. The parrot links into your radio and uses the car speakers, it connects as you get into the car and doesn't need you to think about it, it just works. There are a few different versions, and I've had, or have, most of them, just go for the most basic and you'll just have one very small control button for answer/hangup. Aside from how dangerous it is to phone and drive, the fine and the extra on your insurance (plus the points) make getting one a good investment.

Cheers for the advice. I have a profile on my phone so that when it rings it automatically goes to speakerphone which works really well. But the speaker on the phone is on the back, and is muffled my the phone holder, and isnt the loudest thing in the world anyway, so was looking for something else.
A 2nd hand Parrot might just do the job.

Do yourself a favour and get a new parrot £150 installed at car connections, crystal clear, easy to use, TIDY, not cheap and nasty and comes with a warranty. Best device out there
