Yes I agree,but if someone asks for it to be rehomed and it was being kept in a plastic box, you have a garden with other hedgehogs living happily there!
What would you do?

Don't want to sound like a prude but shouldn't wild creatures be left alone? From the story so far it doesn't sound completely wild...maybe it has rehomed itself...

Hi All
I had gone off line and had not realized ata the time that the hedgie was not roaming free.
I have spoken to the lady,but he has at the moment gone AWOL.
I have left my number and as soon as he turns up I will collect him and he can spend the rest of his days in my garden.
Aill keep you upto date!!! Hedgehogs hibernate in nests over winter - usually from October to April. http://www.mywildlifegarden.co.uk/hedgehogs.html that's probably why he has gone AWOL
