what is the average received in tax credits for a single working adult?how is it worked out and what are you entitled to claim for?

Frightening isn't it, at one time you could work all your government based finances out. I've had a few episodes in the last couple of years where the department couldn't understand or explain them and the response is usually "wait a couple of months and see if it sorts itself out".

If you are on low income there are other benefits such as Housing Benefit, Income Support, Council Tax Benefit etc. Clicky
