i wouldnt mind so much if the revenue created by speed cameras actually went back into the system and repaired the roads !

dont know but know at least 3 people who been done for speeding on the wirral this week and they not boy racers

The police actually borrow council vans to hide the cameras in. Although my general opinion is that if you speed and get done for it then you only have yourself to blame. I'm sure the use of unmarked vehicles for that sort of purpose is against guidelines. I seem to remember some changes they had to make to the way they hid ANPR vans at one time. The other obvious question is what are the council doing with surplus vans that they rent/lend(?) out to the police.

Just read that darn sarf they are putting them back up again because the motorists are speeding again and safety is now a problem. I suppose it is a case if motorists can't be trusted to drive safetly then they will have to pay the penalty, whether thru fines or council tax to pay for the cameras.
