I'd rather have a speed limiter fitted to my car! I think that would solve all speeding problems.

Are the speed cameras still in operation on the Wirral?

Finding loads of coppers with speed guns hiding beside Wirral Council vans.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

The police actually borrow council vans to hide the cameras in.

Although my general opinion is that if you speed and get done for it then you only have yourself to blame. I'm sure the use of unmarked vehicles for that sort of purpose is against guidelines. I seem to remember some changes they had to make to the way they hid ANPR vans at one time.

The other obvious question is what are the council doing with surplus vans that they rent/lend(?) out to the police.

Just read that darn sarf they are putting them back up again because the motorists are speeding again and safety is now a problem. I suppose it is a case if motorists can't be trusted to drive safetly then they will have to pay the penalty, whether thru fines or council tax to pay for the cameras.
