Kevin - I've never seen that letter before and I have to say it's made me cry. Having taken 2 family dogs to the vet because they were in far too much pain and far too ill, it brought back some horrible memories. We were rather selfish and left it to the last minute, even though we and the vet knew we had no other options. Both dogs looked at me before they went as if to say "thank you" but it didn't make it any easier. To have to go through that with a dog that is not ill or in pain would be unbearable I couldn't do it. I know exactly how you feel too. and yet there are people that will take their healty dogs to a vet to be put to sleep for really very stupid reasons, here is just one of many I know of...Zeus-14mths old & put to sleep by his owner because he had changed in the last few weeks and chewed the remote control and other things around the house. ![[Linked Image]](http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/liverbirdathome/25470_1402938078413_1381192145_2-1.jpg) this poor lad was in his 'teenage years never given the chance to grow up. Some people should never own a dog I cant believe that any vet would put this gorgeous boy down. Just for being a dog!

I know... unbelievable but true. also a vet put down a Staffy Bitch and her puppies because she got into difficulty giving birth, the owners didn't have the money to pay for an emergency cesarean section for her. so she was put to sleep along with her pups. and the owners were billed for that instead. I can't understand why any one would breed a dog if they didn't have the money for such an emergency.

I know... ...I can't understand why any one would breed a dog if they didn't have the money for such an emergency. ...some people get blinded by $$$ signs in their eyes - some pups often sell for lots of money... and "money is..." what, again? Last thing they probably think of is something going wrong with their get-rich-quick scheme...

oh! i'm well aware of why's and wherefore's but still cant understand it. even crossbreeds now are more expensive than a pedigree dog, with fancy tags like labradoodle, springador even a shepadoodle is more expensive than a german shepherd.
