Dont think its of any importance. My dad used to joke many years ago that it was a viking ship! I believed him aswell!!

I think the boat may be the one that is now buried under the sand just off Meols. When I was a child I used to live there and we used to walk on the beach quite often. There was a boat very similar looking and about the size of that one buried in the sand. You could see the whole side of it just level with the surface. Over the years it disappeared under the sand. I presume it must still be there.
I estimate it to be where the red splodge is on the picture.
